About Manual Lymph Drainage

Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD) is a rhythmic Massage Therapy technique which uses both palms and soft fingers in a wave-like motion that also has a very powerful relaxing and calming effect on the nervous system.

The gentle, rhythmic, pumping, massage movements follow the direction of lymph flow so the lymphatic system is able to effectively remove congestion and stagnation from within the whole body.

Mary Gillian Vellet, RMT, combines Manual Lymph Drainage with the following other Massage Therapy techniques of Swedish, Myofascial, Heat/Cold Hydrotherapy, Diaphragmatic Breathing, and Essential oils in 60 and 90 minute sessions for an effective massage that produces rapid results.

This method of massage is effective in treating acute and chronic conditions such as, stress, inflammation, traumatic injuries, post-surgeries, fractures, whiplash, concussion, cervical spasm, sports & athletic recovery, pre & post pregnancy, sciatica, scoliosis, disc herniation, rotator cuff injuries, frozen shoulder, tendinitis, carpal tunnel syndrome, thoracic outlet syndrome, fibrocystic breasts, respiratory conditions (Sinusitis, Asthma), digestive conditions (IBS, Leaky gut, Crohn’s, Diverticulitis, Ileocecal value dysfunction), cancer care and recovery (Mastectomy Lumpectomy), lymphatic congestion & vascular fragility (Lipedema), lymphatic stagnation and swelling (Lymphedema).
